1.Who we are
Saint Astrologer is run by [Registered business name], [Registered business address, City, State, PIN code]. We decide how your details are used, so under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the “data fiduciary” for them.
This notice explains, in plain words, what we collect when you ask for a reading, why, who sees it, and how to have it deleted.
2.What we collect
Only what you type into the reading form, and what we work out from it:
- Your full name, as you’d like it on your report.
- Your date, time and place of birth. From the town you pick, we look up its map coordinates and time zone: a birth chart needs both.
- Your email address, where we send your report.
- Your mobile number. With your email address, it lets us keep the free reading to one per person. We don’t call or message you for marketing.
- The paid services you picked on our website, if any.
- Photos of your palms and the soles of your feet, if you ask for a palm reading, and which hand you write with. We remove the hidden location and camera details from each photo before we store it. We use them only for your reading, including working out your birth time if you don’t know your date of birth.
- A record of your consent: the date and time you sent the form, and which version of this notice you agreed to.
If you send us details of another person, such as your child or your spouse, we collect the same things about them. You may do this only with their permission, or as their parent or guardian (see section 8).
What we don’t collect
- No card or UPI details: you pay in Razorpay’s window or on its page, and those details go only to Razorpay, never to us.
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising or tracking tools.
- Your internet (IP) address is seen by our server, as by every website. We use it only to stop anyone flooding our form, keep it in memory for at most two days, and never store it or write it in our logs.
Please don’t send us health information or other sensitive details in emails unless they’re needed for your question.
3.Why we use it
We use your details only to:
- prepare your reading and email it to you;
- email you a confirmation, so you can check the details you gave;
- keep the free reading to one per person, by checking your email address and mobile number against earlier requests;
- after your free reading, write to you about the paid services you picked, if you picked any;
- answer your messages and requests.
We use them because you agreed to it, by ticking the box on our form. We don’t send newsletters or marketing emails, don’t sell or rent your details, and don’t use them for advertising or to make automated decisions about you.
4.Who sees it
- Our astrologers and support team, to prepare your reading and answer you.
- [Hosting provider, e.g. a cloud server company], which runs the server our website and database are on, in [Country where the server is].
- [Email provider, e.g. Resend], which delivers our emails.
- Cloudinary, which stores palm and foot photos for us, in the USA. They are stored privately: they have no public web address, and only our team can open them.
- Razorpay, our payment company, only if you later pay for a service: it handles your payment under its own privacy policy, and we see only that you paid.
These companies handle your details only to provide their service to us, under our instructions. We share details with government or police authorities only when Indian law requires us to.
5.How long we keep it
We keep your details for 3 years after your last reading or message, so we can answer follow-up questions about your reading. Then we delete them.
Palm and foot photos are the exception: we delete them automatically 30 days after you send them, whatever else we keep. The rest of a palm-reading request (your name, email and reading) is kept like everything else.
If you ask us to delete them sooner, we do, within one month. The only exception is anything Indian law requires us to keep for a minimum time (currently up to one year); we keep that only for that legal purpose, and then delete it.
Our backup copies are replaced every day and kept for 14 days, so a deleted detail is gone from them within 14 days.
6.How we protect it
- Your details travel to us encrypted (HTTPS).
- Only our team can open the database, and our server logs never contain your details.
- Our form checks every detail it receives and accepts nothing it didn’t ask for.
- Palm and foot photos are stored privately, and the links our team uses to see them stop working after 7 days.
If your details are ever exposed in a data breach, we’ll tell you without delay: what happened, what it may mean for you, and what we’re doing about it. We’ll also report it to the Data Protection Board of India, as the law requires.
7.Your rights
You can, at any time and free of charge:
- See what we hold about you, and who we’ve shared it with;
- Correct it: the easiest way is to reply to your confirmation email;
- Delete it, or withdraw your consent. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it: one email. We then stop using your details and delete them (section 5). A reading already in progress stops too;
- Name someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- Complain to our Grievance Officer (section 10).
Write to support@example.com from the email address you used on our form, so we know the request is yours. We confirm we’ve received it within 48 hours, and act on it within one month at the latest.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, set up under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
8.Children and other people’s details
You must be 18 or over to use our form. Many parents ask about a child’s chart: if the details you send belong to someone under 18, you must be their parent or legal guardian. If they belong to another adult, you need their permission.
We don’t knowingly accept details a child has sent by themselves. If you believe a child has sent us their details, write to us and we’ll delete them.
9.Changes to this notice
When this notice changes, the “Last updated” date at the top changes too. If a change affects how we use details we already hold, we’ll email the people concerned before it applies to them.
10.Contact and Grievance Officer
For anything about your details, write to support@example.com.
For complaints, our Grievance Officer is [Grievance officer's full name] (Grievance Officer), [grievance email address], [Registered business address, City, State, PIN code]. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within one month.
